Volkswagen GTI For Sale - Got Dub If You Want It!

This 2003 Volkswagen GTI was sitting in a parking lot when I photographed it, and it had a "FOR SALE" sign (not visible here) on it!
Any takers? ;-)

White Rabbit

No, nothing to do with the Jefferson Airplane song or Lewis Carroll stories. This is a white 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit, which my negihbors down the street recently bought.
Ever since the Rabibt name was revived for the Mark 5 Golf in the U.S., the car has been selling better than expected. Not too bad for a hatchback, especially in a hatchback-hating country like America. VW customers in the States lilkely remember the original Rabbit and what fun it was before VW started building it in Pennsylvania and the plant managers almost ruined it.
The Prancing Bunny
smaginnis11565 posted a photo:
The new Rabbit does not bear the Rabbit name. Rather, it bears the old "prancing bunny" logo of the late seventies and the early eighties. The Rabbit name and emblem were meatn to give the Golf a cuddly image in North America (including Canada), but the car got less cuddly with each redesign (and the Golf name was used here on the Mark 2, 3, and 4 models). But with greater handling capabilities, the new car is being compared to the original little runabout that debuted here in 1975.
That "2.5" decklid insignia refers to the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine under the hood. Although engines with an odd number of cylinders are novel to most folks, earlier Audis, and the Volkswagen Quantum (Santana in Europe) also had five-cylinder engines in the eighties.
